A blast of frigid arctic air will take hold across the Minneapolis region into next week.
Temperatures will continue to plummet over the weekend, with highs reaching into only the single digits on Sunday.
The bitterly cold air this weekend will be accompanied by dry, brisk conditions, making AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures even lower than actual temperatures. AccuWeather RealFeel Temperatures will be well below zero F for much of the weekend.
Fans heading to TCF Bank Stadium to watch the Vikings take on the Seahawks will need to wear many layers for the game as AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures will be 20 degrees below zero.
"People should make sure to bundle up before heading outside in this bitter cold as being exposed to these temperatures without proper protection can quickly lead to frostbite or hypothermia," AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Lada said.
The frigid air will continue into next week. A high of around 10 F is expected on Monday.
An Alberta clipper system approaching on Monday night will spread light snow into the region, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Maggie Samuhel.
"Tuesday morning, you could wake up to a dusting of snow on your car," Samuhel said.
Another cold shot will follow the snowfall, with high temperatures dropping back into the single digits for Tuesday and Wednesday.
